2010 Cyclist of the Year: Ryan VanDuzer |
|
Ryan VanDuzer has been one of Community Cycles’ biggest supporters since the beginning of our efforts five years ago. During that time, Ryan has shared his gift of video production and has helped us spread the message of our work to the greater community. He has helped teach our Family Learning Center after school bike class and rode two long-distance bike rides to raise money for Community Cycles. While Ryan’s efforts to support Community Cycles are extraordinary, his love of bicycles goes much deeper. From cruising on Thursday night to helping with bike moves to using his bicycle for everyday life, Ryan has never had a driver license and has found a way to be a world traveler without ever sitting down behind the wheel of a private automobile. Ryan also is a firm believer in spreading his love and joy for cycling to others. That, more than anything else, makes Ryan Community Cycles first ever Cyclist of the Year. Through his films, outreach, travels and volunteer work, Ryan shares why bikes make him so happy and explains to others how even just a little bit of time spent on a bike can make you smile for the whole day. We cannot think of a better person to name Community Cycles 1st annual Cyclists of the Year.
Join Ryan on Friday, February 4th for tales of his international adventures! Boulder REI hosts Ryan for a two-hour whirlwind virtual tour. Register for this free presentation here: http://www.rei.com/event/17096/session/21016.
