The Advocacy Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month 6pm at the shop. The next meeting will be Wednesday February 12 at 6pm. Bring your ideas or tap into the projects mentioned below.
Bike to Shop Campaign - CC is working with BIBA, the Relocalization Project and the City to set up an incentive program to encourage patrons and employees to bike to shop. We hope to launch this campaign in the spring.

Air Quality Report on KGNU - Working towards getting a twice daily air quality announcement on KGNU brought to you by Community Cycles who would like to remind you riding a bike to work helps us all breath easier.
Lighted Bike Path Event - This event will highlight the need for lighting on paths. People will sponsor luminaries, candles in bags, to line Bear Creek path. Goals are to raise awareness of the issue and some funds for CC. October 2008?
Test Air Quality at Public Schools - Encourage no idling. Obtain air quality testing equipment to be used at schools before and after school
Murals on Underpasses - Working with the City, local artists and youth groups we'll work towards getting more murals on the bike/ped underpasses.
Bike Parking Policy - Working with the city and businesses in Boulder we'll work to develop a bike parking policy that reflects the needs of bike commuters. We will first focus on Whole Foods who will soon be expanding it's Boulder location.
Road Closure Events - A sub group has been meeting with the City to make this happen.
Web Forum - The CC website will soon host a Boulder Cycling forum to discuss a wide array of topics from path conditions to rides to mechanical tips. It's hard to say what the forums topics will be as they will arise from the users contributing. Josh and Chuck have volunteered to act as forum moderators. We plan to launch this in early February.
Bike Rack Design Competition - Working with Boulder Space we
Snow Removal - CC is working with the city maintenance crew and providing voice to cyclists needs. We're also talking about how we can work with the city to collect problem area information most effectively.
Bike to Work Month - Another sub group led by Sue Prant is working on coordinating the 2008 Bike Month activities. Much of the advocacy committees work ties in with Bike to Work Month activities.
