City planning host of bike - related activities all this month

Sue Prant, who is spearheading the walk and bike events calendar for the city, said Boulder typically takes the monthlong advocacy of physical fitness and carbon-reducing transportation far beyond what most other cities do.

"We're the only (city) who has a whole month dedicated," Prant said. "It's important we take the month to encourage people to walk and bike."

This year, the city plans a host of free activities and workshops aimed at getting people out of cars and onto their feet, culminating with the traditional "Walk or Bike to Work Day" on June 25.

Below are select upcoming events that celebrate Walk and Bike Month. For a complete list of events, visit http://communitycycles.org/bike-month.html.
