Changing of the Guard

BikeNonProfitNews

We’re excited to share a few changes around Community Cycles this month.

Sales associate Joey Gault has been promoted to Shop Sales Coordinator. In just a few weeks, Joey has already been on top of keeping the shop neat and orderly and the shelves stocked!

Bruce Piggot, our Earn-a-Bike and Workshop Programs Coordinator, is finally retiring. He “retired” once before, but came back to us a month later! Bruce will still be around as a volunteer, but former Board President Ray Keener will be taking over Bruce’s role coordinating our workshops, the Complete Mechanics Series and our Earn-a-Bike Programs. Ray is a legend in the bike industry. and we are lucky to have him and his extensive network of bike knowledge serving our community. He has set his sights on expanding Community Cycles’ workshop offerings, adding more classes, new teachers and community forums.

Finally, longtime board member Dean Fogerty is retiring from the Community Cycles Board of Directors. Dean joined our board in 2010 and has given hundreds of hours of time to advance our work, especially tabling and helping out at events. Dean was the board member I could ask to do any task and he would happily take it on, no matter how big or small. I will really miss his unwavering support and positive, no-nonsense attitude at board meetings, along with his energetic help at every event. Dean has been a part of what has made Community Cycles a wonderful place and a great Boulder institution. Thank you Dean!
