Walk and Bike Month Dates Announced: September 2021

BikeNonProfitNews

Boulder will celebrate Walk and Bike Month along with Bike to Work Day: Back in the Saddle in September 2021.

After canceling the celebration in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, we plan to get “back in the saddle” in September, rather than the traditional month of June, for Boulder’s 45th annual Bike to Work Day.

Bike to Work Day on September 22, 2021 will be complete with more than 50 breakfast stations around Boulder serving free food and drink to the estimated 7,000 participants riding or walking to work. Mark your calendar and stay tuned for more details — registration will open in August.

Our community’s celebration of walking, bicycling, and healthful, sustainable transportation is one of the largest and longest-running Bike to Work Day events in the nation. This year will also continue the tradition of free bike classes hosted by Community Cycles and other free events in the planning.

Community Cycles, a local nonprofit that educates and advocates for safe bicycle use, coordinates walking and biking events throughout the month, and coordinates breakfast stations on Bike to Work Day.

Walk & Bike Month is supported by many generous corporate sponsors and by GO Boulder, a segment of the city transportation department focused on enhancing the city’s multi-modal transportation system and reducing single-occupancy vehicle usage.
