Complete Mechanic Series

Six-Part Bike Repair Course

Cost: $250 member | $300 non-member (membership included)

This is our premier course that gives students the skills necessary to work on all basic systems of the bicycle. Classes run 2 hours long.  This course is open to all, from beginner to advanced.

One: Mechanics 101"AARON TUNEBERG"

  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Lubricants and cleaning agents
  • Flat repair

Two: Drivetrain

  • Bottom Brackets
  • Cranks

Three: Bearing Systems

  • Hub Overhaul
  • Headset Overhaul

Four: Wheels

  • Cassettes and Freewheels
  • Wheel Truing

Five: BrakesNikki

  • Rim Brake overview
  • Cables and Housing
  • Adjust Rim Brakes

Six: Shifting

  • Introduction to Shifters
  • Derailleur Adjustment

Students are encouraged to practice their newly learned skills in the shop by volunteering or by working on their own bike during open hours in the shop.
