50 Bikes Given to Low Income Families

BikeNonProfitNews

On Aug 12th, Community Cycles was at Alicia Sanchez International School in Lafayette doing one of our favorite things – getting kids on bikes!

With our partners Nature Kids, Boulder Community Health, and Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates, we provided around 50 bicycles, complete with helmets, locks, lights, and bike maps to low income children and families.

In addition to the bike giveaway there was a helmet safety presentation, fun bike course, and a raffle! Thank you all for attending, we had an amazing time at this bike-a-palooza!

This was a first bike for some of these kids, and we can just imagine the places they’ll go with this new way to get around their neighborhoods and hopefully beyond.

As always, Community Cycles welcomes everyone to our cycling community and supports them with affordable bikes, workshops and advocacy to make our cities safe for riding bicycles!
