Six-Part Bike Repair Course

Cost: $250 member | $300 non-member (membership included)

This is our premier three-week course that gives students the skills necessary to work on all basic systems of the bicycle. Classes are 2 hours each and run twice per week for three weeks. Students receive a Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repairs. This course is open to all, from beginner to advanced.

Session 1: Mechanics 101

Session 2: Drivetrain

  • Chain removal, sizing and installation

Session 3: Bearing Systems

Session 4: Wheels

  • Cassettes and Freewheels
  • Wheel Truing

Session 5: Brakes

  • Rim Brake overview

  • Adjust Rim Brakes

Session 6: Shifting

  • Introduction to Shifters
  • Derailleur Adjustment

Students are encouraged to practice their newly learned skills in the shop during DIY hours

or by volunteering at the shop.

 New series will start each month.  Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30p-8:30p for three consecutive weeks
