Building a Bike-Centric Community
Join Community Cycles to explore ideas and ways to make Boulder a safer, more equitable place for all of us to ride and walk. There will be all-ages bike games (bring your bike!), hands-on learning activities, and a Parklet! We’ll also host a bike collection drive where you can donate your old or unwanted bicycles, parts, tubes and tires.
We know that bike(and walk!)-first communities aren’t a coincidence that we luck into. They’re an outcome that we build together. This Placemaking event will activate numerous streets downtown throughout the weekend. Come build with us.
Tentative Bike Game Schedule:
10:00 – Tight rope race
11:00 – Slow race
12:00 – Bike Limbo
1:00 – Red Light, Green Light
2:00 – Circle of Doom
3:00 – Timed change a tire
4:00 – Slow Race
5:00 – Bike Limbo
All Day Long:
More bike games like Tire Toss!
Bike Valet – ride your bike downtown and park it with us while you enjoy lunch and shopping. Be sure to pick it back up before 5pm!
Bike Donation Drive – consider donating your old or unwanted bikes, parts, tubes & tires. We’ll reuse what we can and recycle the rest. We’re especially in need of kids bikes, which will be fixed up and given to kids in need in December.
Bike Safety – Stop by our bike mechanic station and get your bike safety checked, learn how to take a wheel off a bike, register your bike on BikeIndex.org and more!
Bike Rodeo – Officer Mitch Trujillo with Boulder Police will be on hand to talk about how to be a safe cyclist + lead a kid’s bike rodeo / skills course.
