A Safe Jay Road Connection for Cyclists

BikeNonProfitNews

Bicyclists need a safe, paved, separated connection for commuting from Boulder to Gunbarrel and beyond. There have been two bicycle fatalities on Jay Road in two years.  This is not acceptable.  Please consider getting involved.

1) Boulder County will host an open house on April 10 for alternatives the county is exploring the fill in the missing link of LoBo trail, where currently trail users have to use Jay and Spine.  Community Cycles encourages you to attend the Jay Road Connection project, April 10th, 4:30-6:30 at Celestial Seasonings and/or send comments to:  Matt Wempe mwempe@bouldercounty.org

2) A short email to the County, Commissioners & the Daily Camera

  • implement on-road measures now, including flexible delineation, safe speed limits and automated traffic enforcement
