City Ordinance Change Clears Way for Protected Bike Lane

October 21, 2014 by Alexey Davies Leave a Comment

Working with Community Cycles, the City of Boulder passed a number of ordinance changes that will help clear the way for innovative traffic treatments, including protected bike lanes and shared streets, in a win for bike advocacy efforts.

“We are particularly excited about more protected bike lanes in Boulder,” said Community Cycles Director Sue Prant. “We’ll be working with the city in the coming months to determine the best places for protected bike lanes. Off the bat, we’ll be looking at Valmont, Iris, sections of North Broadway and 30th Street from Arapahoe to Baseline. Protected bike lanes are transforming safety for people who ride bikes worldwide. We are excited they will be coming to Boulder.”
