Community Cycles Declares 2025 the “Summer of Bike Love”

Boulder has always been a place where bikes and community thrive, but 2025 is different—it’s a year of game-changing progress with major infrastructure victories that seemed impossible just years ago. Thanks to years of advocacy and collective effort, projects once thought impossible are now reality, proving that when Boulder pedals together, we move mountains (and city policy).

Historic Wins for Safer Streets

City council has approved designs for improvements on both Folsom Street and North 30th Street, while the 30th Street multimodal project has reached completion. What was once one of Boulder’s most dangerous corridors is now a model of safe design, featuring protected bike lanes, wider sidewalks, and improved transit stops.

Community Voices Celebrating Change

To express appreciation for these victories, Community Cycles gathered postcards from local cyclists who wrote heartfelt “love letters” to city council members, sharing personal stories of how safer infrastructure impacts their daily lives—from parents feeling secure about their children biking to school to commuters choosing bikes over cars.

Your Voice Builds the Future

Bike-first communities aren’t a coincidence we luck into. They’re an outcome we build together.

Community Cycles couldn’t achieve these victories without sustained community support. The most impactful action you can take is to join as a member. When hundreds of community members speak with one unified voice, city officials listen and policies shift.

Your membership demonstrates to city leaders that Boulder residents are serious about safe cycling infrastructure. Join Community Cycles today and be part of Boulder’s next wave of historic wins. Together, we can make every season a season of bike love—and ensure our city keeps pedaling toward a safer, healthier, and more connected future.

As we celebrate this Summer of Bike Love, remember that the best victories are yet to come—and they depend on all of us working together.

Keep the Momentum Rolling

Boulder’s 2025 Summer of Bike Love shows what’s possible when a community dreams big and works hard. The safer streets we ride today are proof that collective action works—but they’re also a reminder that our work isn’t finished. Every new project, every protected bike lane, and every safer intersection depends on people like you adding your voice to the movement.
