Speaker Series – E-Bike Gains and Growing Pains

Join Mirrycle and Community Cycles this summer for the Leslie Bohm Speaker Series, with the spotlight on local cycling-world dynamos. Each evening will feature a presentation and an opportunity to mingle and have a conversation with our experts over snacks and beverages. Bring your friends and family to these FREE events! Tonight’s event is a panel of area e-bike experts who will talk about issues like safety, infrastructure, access, etiquette and education.

E-bikes have quickly become “the next big thing” for the bicycle industry, both suppliers and retailers. While the major challenge has been keeping up with demand, growing pains inevitable with a new category have emerged.

Our panel will explore the great opportunities presented by e-bikes enlarging the audience for alternative transportation. They will also face up to the challenges, such as out-of-category bikes and underage riders. Join us to learn more!

Panelists include:

Ash Lovell, PeopleForBikes

Ash leads PeopleForBikes’ electric bicycle policy and campaign initiatives. Prior to joining their team, Ash brought people together to work on big social and environmental projects including urban sustainability and large landscape conservation for the National Park Service. When she’s not building coalitions for PeopleForBikes, you can find Ash riding around the Front Range of Colorado on her electric cargo bike with her two little boys in tow.

Nat Campbell, Yeti Cycles

Nat Campbell is Vice President at Yeti Cycles and a member of People For Bikes Electric Bicycle Subcommittee. Nat has been involved in the cycling industry at some level since the 90s, when he got his start working for an Independent Bike Shop. Cycling has provided Nat with a unique opportunity to see the world thru a cycling lens, including a stent living abroad and the privilege to have ridden in six continents. This background has provided Nat a deep understanding of cycling infostructure, product needs and cycling cultures around the world.
