Boulder has a serious problem with bike theft. This is made worse by the prevalence of substandard bike racks and, in many places, the lack of bike racks altogether. We need your help to report bike racks that are the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Let’s celebrate the good racks and work with landlords, business owners and the city to address the ones that are substandard.
If you know of a good rack or a bad one, please let us know where it is here:
For short-term parking, a good rack is one that allows you to lock your frame to the rack (typically an inverted U-rack), is in a well-trafficked area near your destination, has enough spaces for typical demand, and is well lit at night.
For long-term parking at a residential building, a good rack must also be covered, in a locked facility, and located near the building entrance.
With all that in mind, let us know where there are racks we should celebrate and racks that need improvement.
