Nothing is better than seeing a kid get her first bike!
Make a donation today to get bikes to needy kids and families in Boulder this holiday season.
Every year in December, Community Cycles hosts a Kids Holiday Bike Giveaway.
The Kids Holiday Bike Giveaway is Community Cycles’ oldest on-going event, now in its 9th year!
It’s a community event from beginning to end. A hundred volunteers come together on the day of the event to distribute 300 – 400 bikes. That’s a whole lot of smiles! Join our amazing volunteer team and be Santa this winter holiday season! Current Community Cycles volunteers — sign up for shifts with your log-in.
Bike Giveaway Date and Location:
When: 2015 Date TBD

Throughout the year, Community Cycles takes in 100s of kids’ bikes. Each fall, dozens of volunteer mechanics donate their time to our “work nights” to get bikes ready for the December event.
Local businesses donate the venue, provide snacks and beverages for our volunteers or refreshments for the families that come to the event. Other businesses donate employee community service hours or give matching funds as part of workplace giving.
Together, we are making a difference.
Donate now to help make 2015 the best year ever.
Every child will receive a bike helmet! Thanks to Boulder Community Hospital (now Boulder Community Health) for their sponsorship.
The Walnut Cafe and the Kirk “Rocky” Derichsweiler Foundation have been an outstanding source of support and inspiration over the years. Visit the Walnut, a Boulder classic along with Community Cycles, and let them know you appreciate their support.
Great big thanks to everyone at Tebo Properties, both for donating the venue on December 20th, and for letting us bring over bikes and tools and get set up early.
To receive a bike for your child:
To get a bike, a parent or guardian of a child (2-10 years old) must present ONE of the following on the day of the event FOR EACH CHILD:
- most recent report card, or
- a valid photo identification (I.D.), or
- passport, or
- birth certificate
There is a suggested donation of $35 per bicycle.
We will accept a valid photo identification (I.D.), passport, or birth certificate in lieu of report card for children not yet school-aged.
If you don’t have this ID, we’ll need to collect a $35 fee for each bike chosen.
We also have 300 bike helmets available with the bikes. Thanks to Boulder Community Health for their support!
