Recently Craig David caught up with Boulder Clean as they partner with Community Cycles for Walk and Bike Month! Craig had a chance to sit down with the VP of Marketing, Cara, and chat about the clean, community, bikes, and why it all matters….
Tell us about the work you all are doing with making ” clean cleaner,” – It sounds like you’re re-tooling how people think about cleaning products?
We have always devoted our efforts to cleaner homes, cleaner communities, and a cleaner environment. However, for many sustainable CPG brands, the challenge is not how to formulate a better-for-the-planet product; it’s how to keep that product’s packaging out of the landfill. Our new leading mission is to provide more clean with less waste by providing a platform for reusability that works with consumers to help them transition from single-use to reusable packaging. We’ve recently launched a new line of cleaning products called B-CLEAN by Boulder Clean. We created a better cleaning system—one that’s easy, eco-friendly, and cost-effective. This innovative refill system makes it effortless to clean sustainably by pairing reusable glass bottles with concentrated cleaning tablets that simply activate with tap water.
Why does it make sense for Boulder Clean to partner with a bike-focused non-profit?
In short, cycling is environmentally and economically sustainable—two of the main components in the DNA of the Boulder Clean brand.
But we also make products that is game-changing for cyclists. It’s an odor-eliminating laundry detergent called PowerSport. Traditional laundry detergents just don’t cut it when it comes to cleaning the stains and odors caused by sweat and bacteria. Formulated with proprietary odor-eliminating technology, this laundry detergent gets rid of odors, instead of simply masking them. It’s specially designed for use on activewear, sweaty clothes, smelly socks, musty towels, work uniforms, and even smelly pet beds—making it a must-have in busy, active households.
Supporting the community you live and work in is critical to supporting access to resources, and in our case access to affordable bikes. How does this fit in with Boulder Clean’s culture?
Boulder Clean has always been dedicated to providing cleaning and laundry care products that are better-for-the planet (and your home) at affordable prices.
What else do you want our community to know about Boulder Clean?
At Boulder Clean, we do our best to tell our company’s sustainability story and avoid greenwashing. We admit that we don’t do everything a responsible company can do. But we do tell you how we came to realize our environmental and social responsibilities, and then begin to act on them.
We are currently working towards making all of our cleaning products more sustainable and more importantly, Boulder Clean has set a goal to become 100% single-use plastic-free by 2027.
