Cycling Advocacy Summit in BoCo, August 19

Coalition 4 Cyclists will co-host with Community Cycles for this Speaker Series – Advocacy Summit.

They will discuss progress, politics, policy and possibilities. Their experience and enthusiasm guarantees an inspiring conversation as we work together for more sustainable and equitable mobility.

Panelists:

Natalie Stiffler is director of Transportation & Mobility for the City of Boulder. Boulder’s vision is to create a safe, accessible and sustainable multimodal transportation system that connects people with each other and where they want to go. It is also a Vision Zero city, joining other cities worldwide in working to eliminate all injuries and fatalities caused by traffic crashes through safe street design.

Jordan Trout is the Director of Marketing for Boulder-based PeopleForBikes, the advocacy and trade organization promoting more people on bikes more often. Jordan sees the bike as a simple part of a solution to very complex problems and wanted to help make biking better across the country. She got her start biking thanks to a need to commute to downtown Denver as painlessly as possible.

John Simmerman is a veteran public health promotion professional with over thirty-four years of experience. Through @ActiveTowns, he helps communities create a “Culture of Activity” through safer, more inviting “All Ages & Abilities” built environment design concepts and evidence-based behavior change initiatives that engage and reconnect communities.

Lynn Guissinger is the elected RTD board member, representing Boulder and western Boulder County.  She is a small business owner and former attorney. Lynn was married to Leslie Bohm, and their business, Catalyst Communication, worked for years in the bicycle and outdoor industries, promoting advocacy efforts in these industries. Catalyst later partnered with city transportation departments around the country (including Seattle, Cambridge, Denver, Boulder, Tucson, Anchorage, and others) to market and promote their transit, biking, and walking options.

Coalition for Cyclists will co-host with Community Cycles for this Speaker Series – Pedaling Progress: Cycling Advocacy Now in Boulder.
