Community Cycles staff and volunteers set up at two popular community events—Bike to Work Day and our member party—inviting Boulder residents to write thank you cards to City Council members. The initiative aimed to balance the usual advocacy requests with genuine appreciation for progress already made.

“Every day we ask city transportation staff and Boulder City Council to make our streets safer for people walking and riding bikes,” explained Community Cycles Executive Director Sue Prant. “Today we’re flipping the script—thanking them and showing appreciation for the tremendous work they’ve accomplished.”

The response was overwhelming. Eighty-eight heartfelt cards were collected across both events, with residents sharing personal stories about how Boulder’s expanding bike infrastructure has transformed their daily lives.
