This year marks the 19th annual Kids Holiday Bike Giveaway by Community Cycles, a Boulder non-profit organization committed to making access to bicycles equitable throughout the Boulder community. This is our longest running event – since 2006!
Our goal is to give away over 350 bikes and helmets to low income kids and families. Why do we do this? We think every child in our community should have a bicycle. For the freedom and doors of opportunity it opens, the healthy outdoor exercise, and for the joy of riding a bicycle.
Our Bike and Helmet Giveaway is a community event from beginning to end. Throughout the year, Community Cycles takes in hundreds of kids’ bikes from community donations. Over 100 volunteers are involved in this event overall, from bike mechanics donating their time preparing bikes to volunteers and staff coming together on the day of the event to distribute bikes and helmets.

Volunteer
We currently have enough volunteers. In lieu of volunteering, please consider a $50 donation to sponsor a child or $140 to sponsor a family. Our average family at this event makes less than $25,000 per year and has 3 children of elementary school age.
Our community partners help make it a great day
Thanks to the City of Boulder, Kirk “Rocky” Derichsweiler – KRD Foundation, Boulder Community Health and for providing generous support and a spirit of love and gratitude for our day, and American Campus Communities for the donation of the location. We are so grateful for all of your support for the 2025 Kids Holiday Bike Giveaway!
