June is Walk and Bike Month

Boulder will celebrate Walk and Bike Month along with Bike to Work Day in June 2022.

June has been the traditional month for the annual schedule of events celebrating walking and cycling in the Boulder area.

“We’re happy to shift gears back to June after two years of little or no celebration during the pandemic,” said Sue Prant, Executive Director of Community Cycles, which coordinates the month-long schedule of festivities. “This year we’re bringing back the B360 Bike Ride Around Boulder and the Boulder Bike Show, which people let us know they really missed.”

Other events of note:

  • June 5 – the B360: Circle Boulder by Bicycle is back!
  • June 22 – Bike to Work Day will be complete with more than 50 breakfast stations around Boulder serving free food and drink to the estimated 7,000 participants riding or walking to work, along with a bike home happy hour hosted at Upslope Brewing. Mark your calendar and stay tuned for more details — registration will open soon.
  • June 22 – Bike Home Happy Hour hosted at Upslope with food and beer specials.

Our community’s celebration of walking, bicycling, and healthful, sustainable transportation is one of the largest and longest-running Bike to Work Day events in the nation. This year will also continue the tradition of free bike classes hosted by Community Cycles and more free events in the planning. Visit the Walk and Bike Month website for more information.

Community Cycles, a local nonprofit that educates and advocates for safe bicycle use, coordinates walking and biking events throughout the month, and coordinates breakfast stations on Bike to Work Day.

The 46th annual Walk & Bike Month is supported by many generous corporate sponsors and by the City of Boulder Transportation Department, which is focused on enhancing the city’s multi-modal transportation system and reducing single-occupancy vehicle usage.
