A Workshop, for Women by Women. 

This new Women’s-specific workshop is a collaboration between Community Cycles and the Women of REI Boulder in which you’ll be the first to experience the 2-part workshop! 

Learn how to change a tube, adjust brakes and shifting, or make any other adjustment that helps avoid a ruined ride. 

What: Women’s Only Workshop – Dirt, Gravel, or road…it’s for you.
(includes 2, 90-minute sessions)

Donation/Cost: $100

Sat June 10th: 8A arrival, 8:15 workshop begins
Sat June 11th, 8A arrival, 8:15 workshop begins

What you’ll need: your bike! Tools and work stands provided by Community Cycles

Included in the 2, 90-minute classes are:
-The below instruction
-Pink tire levers
-REI Trail Tips
-Swag Bag / Beverages 

First Day: Class will include instruction on basic bicycle knowledge, diagnosis, and fundamental mechanical skills, including brake adjustment, flat tire repair, and chain replacement.

Topics include:
– How bikes work
– Assessing for damage
– Flat tire repair
– Basic mechanical skills (threading, torque, tool use)
– Replacing a chain
– Brake adjustment demo/workshop

Second Day: Class includes discussion and workshop for intermediate and advanced bicycle repair, including on-trail emergency fixes, derailleur adjustment, and diagnosing suspension issues.

Topics Include:
– Tubeless discussion, how does it work
– Brakes (disc vs. rim, mechanical vs. hydraulic, organic pads vs. metallic)
– Derailleur adjustment
– Shifter flush
– On-trail fixes (broken spokes, chain suck, broken chains, single-speed conversion)
– Diagnosing suspension issues (linkage, fork, shock)
