Community Cycles started recycling bike tires, tubes, handlebar grips and other rubber at CHaRM/Ecocycle in 2022, thanks to City of Boulder Climate Initiative funding. (You can read our intro to the program here.)
These materials come from bikes that are donated to us, or from folks who donate tires and other parts. Now 5200 tires, or 1,000 pounds, are recycled. We invite you to join us in this good work, even if it’s simply by dropping your old tires off at the Shop instead of in the landfill.
